Multifactor Authentication
The security of your personal information is our highest priority. To
continue providing a safe and secure Internet banking environment, we are
introducing significant security enhancements to better protect your personal
information. Some of these changes are designed to ensure that only you
can access your accounts. Others will assure you that you are viewing the bank's homepage.
The first change you will notice a new login method. We are moving the entry of your password to a separate
page.
The New Log In Process
Security Image
You will select and name a security image. Each
time you log in, you will see your security image and know that you are on the authentic
bank site. Only at this time will you enter your password.
Security Questions
You will also answer three security questions. If we don't recognize the computer you are using
to log in, we will ask you to answer one of the security questions you previously created.

Your cookies/temporary Internet files may be corrupted. Please delete the cookies and temporary Internet files and restart your browser. (Using Internet Explorer, you can delete the files, by clicking Internet Options on the Tools Menu.)
What information will I be asked to input to login with enhanced security?
You will be asked to enter:
- A valid email address.
- A passphrase to match the randomly selected image.
- Three answers for three challenge questions.
You will also be asked whether you would like to register your computer.
How do I log on using enhanced security?
- To logon using enhanced security, enter your user code on the Blackhawk Bank & Trust homepage and click login.
- Log in using your current User Code on the Blackhawk Bank & Trust homepage.
- Click LOGIN.
- If your computer is not registered you will be asked to answer one of your security questions. Answer the question, choose whether or not you would like to register the computer, and click submit. Only register personal computers that you frequently use and are not available for public use.
- Your authentication image & pass phrase are displayed.
- If they match your private image and pass phrase, then enter your password.
- If the authentication image and pass phrase do not match, do not enter your password. Start over, or contact the Blackhawk Bank & Trust Internet banking department at 309-787-4451 for assistance.
- Click SUBMIT.
What are the authentication pass phrase and authentication image?
The pass phrase and authentication image verify that you are accessing the Blackhawk's website and not a phishing site. They will appear after you have entered your user code and on the same page as your password. If the pass phrase and image do not match the pass phrase and image that you selected, you might not be on the bank's website and should not enter your password on that page.
What does it mean to register a computer?
If you choose to register your computer, the bank's system will match your user code to your computer. If your computer has not been registered, you will be asked one of the challenge questions you previously answered. Only register personal computers that you frequently use and are not available for public use.
Can I register more than one computer?
Yes, you may register more than one computer to your user code. Only register personal computers that you frequently use and are not available for public use.
Can more than one user be registered on one computer?
Yes, more than one user may be registered one the same computer. For example, both a husband and a wife may be registered on their home computer.
How can I change my security questions or authentication image?
After logging in successfully to eCHIEF,
- Select Options from the main menu.
- Select Change Security Data.
- Make changes as desired.
- Click SUBMIT.
